Tutorial: Translating Game Chat Conversation 🌐

Until Tripeaks includes translations in game chat, there is a way to translate from a screenshot, using Google Translate. Someone did a tutorial like this in another group, and it helped me tremendously. Opened up a whole new world for me and the members who did not speak English.

First, download Google Translate app.

To Translate:

Take a screenshot of chat

Open Google Translate
1. Choose which language you will be translating from.
2. Choose which language you will translate to.
3. Tap on the camera icon on the bottom left corner of the box.

4. Tap on the Images icon on the bottom left corner of the camera screen.

5. Choose your screenshot (method depending on your device).

6. With you finger, swipe the text to be translated.
7. Tap the blue arrow to see the whole translation.

To Reply:

8. Tap the X in the white box to clear the text.
9. Tap the arrows between languages, to switch.

10. Type your reply in the white box.
11. Translation will appear in the blue box.
12. Tap the Copy icon on the bottom right corner of blue box.

Translation will be copied to your clipboard.
You can then paste it in chat.

Note: The Google Translate app is great for posting in English on this forum too.

@Tiki_Jen_Hart Thank you for your lovely words! They were kind and wonderful!

The updated google translate allows you to Take a photo of what you want to translate, highlight the words, it then copies those words into the program and translates into whatever language you want. I’ve used it to explain conversations and to allow non-English speaking players to contribute to decisions our team tries to make together. I feel that it allows us to bridge the gap between nationality, religion, language and culture. It creates common ground to develop friendships and an atmosphere of acceptance.

I found “viberapp” when considering some players on our team may not be English speaking and therefore why they weren’t chatting.
