My high school English teacher advised me on a college choice. She told me it would be the perfect choice for me allowing me to grow into being my best self. I visited, fell in love with the place and what followed was the best four years of my life. Years later, when my daughter was having a similar issue in deciding what college to apply to, I suggested she visit the same college. She did, she applied and she had her own amazing journey of self discovery. Best advice I ever received! The college? Wells College!! Class of '78
A counselor at once told me, " Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly." Depression tells us , why bother, I will never be good enough so I won’t try. Call it’s bluff and do something, stop comparing yourself with others.
From a nurse after I overdosed on aspirin at 14…you have so much going for you…whatever is happening now is only temporary…you can change your life by focusing in good things and growing thru struggles.
As a mom of 3 kids I often felt overwhelmed and that I was always getting “angry” with one or another. One of my children was challenging and forever pushed the limits. A friend gave me the best advice in that I should “choose my battles”. That if we are going to go head to head make sure it was worth it
I guess the best piece of advice I received recently would be that to be a good mother I need to remember to take care of myself too and not just focus on everyone else.
Speak up if something is bothering you Don’t keep silent because you’re afraid of hurting someone’s feelings Your feelings are important to Being silent to keep the peace destroys your peace
