I’m fairly new to the game and have been playing every day, learning more all the time. But how do I get streak doublers? I’ve only had one or two. I have a tough time with a lot of those third stars and haven’t noticed them in the boosters with shark hooks, trap torches, etc. I know wild cards create streaks, but I’m interested in the streak doubler bonus.
When get a steak (a, k, q, j and so forth) it doubles the reward you get for that item. That is one of the things you get points for.
Yes, thank you Edith. I understand what the streak boosters are, but I’m wondering where you get more of those since I don’t see them in the typical packages.
Have you looked on the Solitaire Tripeaks Facebook page? Sometimes they give these away on their posts. I don’t recall receiving them very often. They do help when you’re trying to get that elusive streak bonus on certain levels.
Are you a member of a club? Sometimes they will be part of the perk rewards at the end of the playing week. They also are sometimes included in a daily quest…
No, but that’s a good idea. Thanks. I’m hardly on FB, play only on two different phones (yes, weird, I like two games going). I’m heartened to know they aren’t all that frequent. I thought maybe i was missing something. Yes - that elusive streak bonus! Those third stars are tough to do sometimes. Thanks Laurel
I am a member of a club (two actually, since I play on two phones and not FB) and I hope to see more of them as perks! One of the clubs (one game on one my phones) does well, but the other game / phone - I need to find a new club. I’ll keep on eye out on the daily quest. I guess I’ll just need to rely on wild cards more to create my own streaks or fill in a missing piece of one. Thanks Birdiegirl
You’re welcome. If you’re still looking for a new club on one of your phones, we have room in Texas Paradise. Search for us, we’re a public club.
Good for you for even knowing what a streak doubler is. I’ve been playing since last spring and I have no idea what this means. I see I’ve earned them, but have no idea what they’re even for. I"ll be following this post for more info.
@supermania in the game, the streak doubler is a booster that allows you to get the streak bonus faster. It looks like a pink/purple circle with a gold star in the center that says “x2” on it. When you use this booster you will receive twice the streak as you would without it.
And…why do I want a streak bonus? What exactly does it do for me? More points are added? I also noticed on the top of the Leaderboard that I have a x2 booster button. I have over 100 boosters there. It says it gives me 3 hours of double red stars if I use it. Again…not sure why I would want this?
Laurel - you are awesome! Thank you! I just took you up on your offer and discovered something - I should have waited a day, but with only a couple spaces left in TP, I didn’t want to wait and risk missing your offer. Although I didn’t lose my red stars, I lost all my tikis and perks! I thought the club lost them but I got to take them with me. Oh well. Next week is another week. I was consistently at the top of my other club with only 3 -5 playing; your club is exciting. I’m still a beginner so I’ll be at the bottom for a bit (I had only about 1000 or so) but I do log in and play every day - sometimes briefly, sometimes much longer, so I will contribute regularly and conscientiously. I should dump my secondary phone and put the time into my primary one. Now that I’m with a fully active club I might do that. Thank you again.
We’re a friendly group, glad you joined us. When the club tournament ends, you’ll receive the prizes for TP. We currently have 2 members on vacation but they should be back soon
The streak bonus gives you more club points and a lot more coins. The red star doubler helps you climb the red star leaderboard. The higher you rank on the leaderboard the better the prizes. So basically the reason you would want to use both is to help your coin balance and your club.
That’s really cool that everyone plays, then everyone is attentive to the gifts in the shop (today’s was a free play). My other two clubs never got more than 3 people unlocking them. This is especially great because while I don’t have a big budget to buy coins and stuff, I’ve been reading the rules and tips and everything to take advantage of all the options TriPeaks offers and to increase my skills as well. So with a purchase of coins or boosters every now and then, well used, and regular playing (and new coins every 20 minutes) my intention is to be a meaningful contributor instead of one of the only contributors!
Thank you for the info. That’s very helpful as I’ve always wondered. I still say they need a 101 board available with all the information everyone should be privy too. I can’t be the only one who has lots of questions.
Definitely take the time to go through the tips section of the forum. I’ve found a lot of helpful information in there.
supermania - yes, the HELP under the menu (top left on any island screen) has great little info guides as does this page. Plus just poke around and try stuff. There are a lot of tips and info on this game on other sites as well. They’ve been tremendously helpful in not only assisting me in understanding the game, but helping me to play better, especially because on my income, I can’t just automatically and frequently turn to a package purchase, but at the same time, I’m never satisfied with status quo. All the info out there will definitely help you.
The streak doubler confused the heck out of me until this week. Even after searching through this entire forum, I still couldn’t figure how it worked for a couple of months.
So here it is: once you activate the streak doubler, each card played counts as 2 cards for the purposes of a streak. So 3 cards = 6 on the streak meter which gets you the first streak bonus. Get a streak of 8 and you’ll hit all 3 streak bonuses and qualify for the 3rd red star immediately, assuming you win the level.
Nice summary, Ff2017 - I love streak doublers. They don’t cost anything, but they’re elusive boosters and don’t seem to be present in the for-purchase packages. I have a lot of levels where I have 2 stars (yellow and red) and the third streak star is missing. Sometimes I’m right there - oops, out of wild cards! And then that little blue bar recedes a tad and…no streak star this time.
