I just created a new club and cannot for the life of me figure out how to find and invite new members. Suggestions?

Click on your club house. There is an invite friends button there. Also you can click on the discover tab and recruit people from other teams. Just click on team, find person you would like to join and click. A pop up will appear and an invite button will be at the bottom. Hope this helps.
