Why do I only get 1,000 coins of each player and they receive 3,000 coins?

Accounts that are active before GSN got bought out were grandfathered in.

I’ve been playing for years and used to get the 3k of coins. I just reread the article about the buyout and if the grandfather rule does apply I should be a great grandpa. Who determines this and what date are they using?
